Does anyone have the full details of this? BBC suggested that Silaanyo released details stating that their salaries were raised by a 100%, is this even possible?

And on another note, why did he go back to hargeisa after visiting berbera? What happened to the reports suggesting he was going to Burco? Is he going to be another Riyaale who didn't visit Burco until a couple months before the election

HARGEISA (SomalilandPress)—Somaliland’s new government is considering on giving a vast pay increases on all civil servants according to the BBC Somali service’s this evening program. An increase of 100% pay raises for all armed forces personnel and 75% increase for all other civil servants is expected for the government to announce. Currently there is no confirmation of this pay raise from the office of the presidency.

These raises have been expected from the current government, but not this significant increase in short period of time. It was during the well campaigned election of 2010 that President Ahmed Siilaanyo’s Kulmiye party promised to increase the wages for all civil servants if they were to be elected in to office. This increase of pay for the armed forces and civil servants would be the highest increase in the last 15 years.

For years there have been calls for the former government to increase civil servants salaries after the economic downturn of 2007 and the rising food and fuel prices but there was no effect to it. This current compensation increase for the country’s civil servants could not have come at a better time due the recent high prices on all goods sold in the country.

Cali, 100% is possible he just doubled their previous salaries. Also didn't he visit burco earlier on in his time as president - visting the new airport or some factory, I think.
