I'm male. Just ask your parents that you want to marry. Whatever you do, DO NOT BRING IN MAN who you want to marry into the house without you telling them that you want marry. They'll think you're bringing your man in for bedtime.

My mum has a way of getting things out of you and sometimes pretends like she doesn't know.

The general rule is, you shouldn't tell even your mom if you're not serious about the guy...if you are and you've both decided you want to get married, getting your mother involved will probably ensure things run smoothly. You'll know what you can and can't do, what your family will not accept etc.
