Kenya arresting Somalis for no reason

About 10 Somali people have been arrested by the Kenyan forces at Mandera, a town in the border between Kenya and Somalia on Friday, just as there were more young Somali teenagers detained in the country according witnesses.

There had been more Kenyan troops deployed to the border between Somalia and Kenya for security reasons where there had also been more civilians that the body guard arrested.

Sources said that the 9 were captured between Mandere and Beled-hawo town of Gedo region in the border.

7 of the people were reportedly businessmen working between the two sides while the others were young Somalis traveling.

Kenyan troops jailed 20 young Somalis in parts of the country recently and it is unclear the reasons behind the arrest

Kenya has taken in over 400 000 Somalis and many Somalis hold high Posts in Kenya´s goverment. Theres even a Somali running for president 2012. Ethiopia is slaughtering Somalis in Ogaden, not letting Food aid in. And killing their livestocks. It is not letting any media in Ogaden. Its calling the liberation movement for "rebels" and also fighting them.
It has invaded Somalia and killed Somalis in over 2 years in our own land. It is supporting Somalia´s secccionists. It has historicly been an enemy of Somalis.

When the Europeans lived among the africans i sometimes think the NFD and OGadeen regions were delibrately created to protect the people who were our neighbours. The Rest was ocean... Socotra was isolated.

I wonder what the horn of africa would look like today had somaliweyn formed in 1960.

Kenya fears for it's own security and there major concern is the population influx as the TFG and al-shabab increase their efforts. The bigest etnic group is 6million and somalis are ranked as the 3rd largest group at 4million... Ethnic population rank is a viarable in Kenyan politics and their fear is as real as daylight. The presidency of Kenya hangs in the balance due to the influx, this has altered their usual welcoming atitude to refugees. Al-shabab suicide bombers is another key concern for national security.

Fortunately the border is far too wide to block migration of refugees or shabab so their actions can only lead me to suspect Economic concerns, Somali business acument is creating an ever growing divide where soon the somalis will have the greatest influence on Kenya business and financial sectors.

Kenya, like any other country in the world, has the right to detain people it sees to be roaming in the country illegally or are thought to be creating some problems. i am a Somali national and i want to see Somalis fix their broken country instead of complaining about how Kenyan security forces treat them. we (Somalis) tend to put the blame on Kenyan government because we only see matters from only one perspective---the Somali perspective. look how we treat each other in our own country let alone others!!! the way we treat each other is beyond description and we complain about Kenyan government. and when it comes to Kenyan government and its people, i think they have done a fantastic and honorable job in hosting our refugees and our business people. where in the world would you find such people! i know i will not be welcomed in some parts of Somalia the way i am welcomed in every corner of Kenya. so c'mon people, wise up and fix your devastated and broken country. treat each other with dignity and others will treat you the same way. if not, stop complaining. even though i am a soomaali, i can proudly declare that i love Kenya for what they have done for our people. look yourself in the mirror!!! and thank GOD for having a neighbor like Kenya.
