Somali Airline Industriy
I heard so many horror stories from stolen luggage to canceled flights with no refund. I myself lost $300 this trip after my carrier, Osob went bankrupt with my return ticket. The problem is that the same guys will pop up with a new name after a while.
I took a guy who was going to Khartoum, Sudan to Bosaso Airport a few days ago. We hugged goodbye and went our separate ways. The out of the blue, he just called me now from his Somalia phone number. I said to him waw, they have a roaming agreement with Sudan telecoms! He said no, I am in Mogadishu. The first question I asked him was can you see th Ugandans? He said no, we are not allowed to get out of the plane. My second question was any incoming? he said nope.
His flightpath:
Bosaso => Galkacyo (missed a connection "the plane never showed up" and had to stay a few days)
Galkacyo => Berbera
Berbera => some town in Yemen for refueling
Yemen => Mogadishu for loading/unloading passengers
Mogadishu => Nairobi
Nairobi => God knows where before Khartoum.
I feel sorry for that poor guy and hope they don't harass him in Mogadishu for going to Sudan.

Warya,
When you land in MGQ, you don't get off the plane and there is no harassment. You can get out to smoke a butt but don't venture far from the plane.
The Somali airlines are criminal. Their safety records and service are appalling and by far the worst is Jubba
Nothing is shitty like watching your planes engine smoke up.

Re: Somali Airline Industriy
awhab, sadly, i agree with u 100%. Other industries are also like that, health care and drug distribution being the worst.

Re: Somali Airline Industriy
Somali airlines are a joke by far the most S**test ive been on is Djibouti Airlines they use old military planes that you have to climb up a ramp
Leaves your lugage in Djibouti takes a week to arrive and takes a month to arrange a return
ultimate FAIL

aisha, they suck big time but at least they provide essential services.
The poor guy called me from Nairobi today telling me the plane from Mogadishu missed the connecting flight and he is still stuck in Kenya. That's almost 24 hours from the time he caleld me from Mogadishu.
