We the people of Somalia, require that the Somali Transitional Federal Government (TFG) step down and accept that they have failed in their attempts to govern Somalia. TFG has proven a massive fiasco and has become a stain on the Somali Republic with their rampant corruption and criminal activity. TFG UN mandate expire February 2011 and UN as well as the TFG should step aside and ensure a smooth transition by political forces such as the Democratic Party of Somalia (DPS) that enjoy real legitimacy among the communities. DPS will engage and support a political process that support and promote a political transition reflecting realities on the ground and the political progress enjoyed in areas such as Puntland and Somaliland. Through a strategy of engagement and by working together the combined efforts of real political forces, enjoying real support and legitimacy will ensure the necessary change needed for Somalia restoring security, law and order, and development for the Somali people. Through a caretaker government DPS will guarantee a referendum on a new constitution and free elections within five years!

TFG step down – we need a vision and a plan for Somalia! A plan without corruption and crime.

the seven year timeline (augest 2004 to augest 2011) for the TFG to restore a central authority in Somalia is fast approaching a dead-end

i am 100% with the TFG. With all its imperfections, we should try to make it right than dismantle it. We, somalis tend to build/destroy things quickly without hesitations.

Here's my proposition:

1- All parliament members must be wealthy people before they get accepted. The problem is that anyone with $$$ can manipulate these cash strapped poor guys.

3- UN/US/west should be taken to international court for playing with Somalia for so long. These guys choose everything for us without our consent.

4- You must have lived in Somalia for a period of time before you can get any federal government job. If that's impossible, then you must bring your family with you.

We should not destroy it but improve it and demand both the TFG and Al-Shabaab to settle their differences. If you look back on the Continental Shelf agreement between TFG Executive and Kenya, the TFG parliament did its national duty and rejected that traitorous agreement. Eventually TFG Parliamant's decison reached the UN headquarters in New York and it has resulted the rejection of the agreement.

The idea of starting every thing from scratch is dangerous 'cause any one will manipulate you and you become susceptible to any foreign and local manipulations that can deny you from achieving any thing.

Besides, you don't know the intention of the people who want you to sign the petition and empty rhetoric can be misleading

We always have been nomadic people. Bringing authority to a people that are genetically

i agree with waryaa, ending the TFG does not miraculously solve all of our problem infact it might just add fuel to the fire, we need to stop making these sort of radical emotional decisions as they can be very catastrophic to Somalia.

lets see where this TFG is going, it has been making huge progress lately and with more educated members in the TFG i suspect further improvement.
