Interesting propesition Sav12600, but on the note of federalism; if the currently only one existing federal 'state' (Puntland) is already cutting its co-operation with the TFG due to disagreement, what makes you think that the same won't happen if more such states were to be created (each vying for power at the table)?

why should somali leaders by guarded by amisom in mogadishu and travel abroad to make a decision, why do somali soldiers need to be trained in uganda and the likes, why should the pirate task force be located in djibouti, why didnt tfg start work on the federal constitution

thats because the leaders of the TFG are not there job for the somali people,
otherwise they would talk to somaliland or puntland and seek advise, they could have gone to hargeysa or garowe for relocation of the government institutions..

following actions need to be taken:
relocate all the institution's of the tfg to garowe as the capital for the time being..
and trust me alshabaab will be history in 6 months.
foreign countries will be more involved and will trust somali leaders more,
investments will flow, because the title as a failed state will be erased and we will have a parliament thats working and not holidaying ....

if these goals are not met, and we do not get support from the hawiyaha and marexaanka then maybe we are not meant to be together ...

good solution but you forget that mj puntland is there not to mention daroods that want to be part of puntland ...is good start how ever alshabab is there first we need to get red of them before do any forward step

as start first hawiyaha and marexaanka should forget old qabils problem we should move forward to somalia for all somalis .....right now our enemy is alshabab then why we don't put our hands together to finish isaaq alshabab and bring our somalia peace ..... puntland is more ready to be the ground for somalia government but we have qabils problem to solve it....all we asking is somalia goverment should be Temporary until we bring alshabab down then move it back so somalia capital Mogadishu....in my opinion the new president should be new face not from south (isaaq-cisa-gudbarusii) or dahir rayle he free now and solder guy.

TFG is nothing but our communication for the outside world, TFG can hardly control 2 streets in xamar, whereas Puntland state goverment has brought peace, stability and a strong secure economy to all thier controlled regions despite all the odds stacked agaist them. puntland state has 3/4million citizens who are happy with the security thier goverment brings them and all those ppl will stand behind thier leader. who does TFG have? what does that tell you? puntland state goverment is here to stay TFG is nothing but a temperary think! so don't forget when puntland says cuts its cutting its ties with TFG it means TFG is packing thier bags.
now imagine if somalia had another state that powerfull in jubba regions and don't get it twisted puntland would benefit from that vice versa then we would have more security in somalia, common goals like fighting off al shabaab and not to forget the economical benefits the 2 states will gain by commerce,trade and transport.

MJ's and harti must acknowledge that jubbaland is consisted of MJ,harti , merexaan, ogadenis and even other minorites but its an overall darood state, and so jubbaland can't and won't happen if power is not shared fairly by all clans but if it happens I believe that jubbaland will even be a greater success then p.land,s.land combined because of its great fertile soil, rivers,lakes, unlimited supply of water it will be a quick success because agriculture is a cheap investment compared to oil and mining and somalis are very eagar to be self sufficent in food these days.
