2007 was the last time that I have chewed it in East Africa. I was very ill at that time with a bad cold and an uncle of mine gave me a fresh caqaar and told me to try as it will cure the constant cough and headache. It was true that in less than 20 minutes, I felt the relief, the cough has stopped, and the pain was gone. If one is habitual qaad eater, it won't treat him but a guy like me who only chews it once in a decade, it can cure some of the ilnesses.
