Somali president travels to Addis Ababa

Somali president, Sheikh Sharif Sh. Ahmed leading delegates has taken off Mogadishu international airport heading to the Ethiopian capital city of Adis Ababa, state media said.

President Sharif and his delegates are expected to attend AU summit that was supposed to open in the Ethiopian capital city of Addis Ababa tomorrow, reports said.

Sheikh Sharif will give speech at African union summit and will also be having a meeting with the international community in Addis Ababa, sources said.

The president returned home yesterday from Uganda where he had talks with his partner president Yuweri Museveni about the Somali security situation as Ugandan forces are part of the African union peacekeeping forces in Mogadishu.

The 16th annual meeting of the African union opens in Addis Ababa tomorrow on Sunday where African leaders and international are streaming as to attend it.
