Libya. Although Qadaffi is a dictator, He is very benevolent towards His population in terms of development and putting recourses back into the economy. He is not even close to Mubaarak/Ben Ali when it comes to hording recourses for Himself. I met some libyans and they seem very happy with Him, and by the way Libyans are pretty wealthy.

Yemen is the place to watch. The protests will be aided by khat too. A deadly mix, when you add to the poverty and religious sentiments raging over there. I forgot Qabil.....

Yemen is definitely next. The people are so poor and starving and the fact that it is tribal makes it even worse. Every Yemeni I talk to says our civil war will be 1000x worse than Somalia because theres tribes that have Tanks, Armoured cars, etc. not just AK's like in Somalia. It sucks for them though. They will run out of water in a couple years, have severe inflation and on top of that no Government? They're gonna be screwed bigtime.
The only reason I don't think it will happen in Libya is the place has the 4th highest GDP per capita in Africa. Also when You're Country is only 6.4 million people, and You're the 9th biggest Oil exporter in the World, You're in good shape.

Yea, they do a great job for their citizens, but they are absolutely horrible to ajanabi, I mean just brutal. I knew this one Somali Guy who lived there in the '70s and they were extremely unfriendly to foreigners. It is tough to live there if You are Somali then, You can only imagine now.

I have a good Libyan friend. He told me 90% of libyans love gadaffi.
All these demonstrations come down to finances at the end of the day. If a man is well fed, well paid and lives in security then his leader could be adolf hitler for all he cares. Thats why you will never see these demonstrations in gulf countries and Libya, where their leaders are competent and understand the needs of their citizens.

I haven't spoken to him in a long while but i will ask him. Latest rumor is that Ghaddafi is building a house for every libyan citizen that asks for it.

Well said. Some people think these Middle Eastern Countries are protesting because their leaders are Pro West. Their leaders could be Yahoodi for all they care, if He gives them food, employment and security they will be happy. Thats just the truth.
Kadarre,
Yea I heard about that. A few years ago He instituted pensions from the Gov to every family.
