So UK is going to be like the US now eh? A melting pot instead of multiculturalism. I guess this is why Somali Americans seem more pro-US than the British Somalis here. How can a state have a policy which leads to ethnic segregation instead of creating a national identity? It might seem bad to British Somalis, but I think it is for the best.

The UK "multiculturalism" has produced a burgeoning welfare state with radical elements thriving throughout. About damn time the UK government takes proactive steps in ending this catastrophic failure.

Major difference. US is an immigrant nation and has been dealing with immigration since its beginning. The US has seen every mistake and success of immigration until we came the modern system called the "melting pot". You can be Muslim, Christian, etc but you are also American. In the UK, multiculturalism has lead to you can be Muslim, Christian, etc and just live in the UK. Major difference. The English don't view non-English as British and the non-English feel alienated from becoming British. In the US, no one has a monopoly on national identity. Everybody contributes to Americaness while being distinct, instead of the British system which means you are British by conforming or living your separate lives.

Europe is different because really the whites are the original inhabitants of the land... so becoming British or whatever is difficult

When Americans talk about Britain or Europe in general, its like you are describing another continent and not the countries that we live in.

His talk had really nothing to do with being British, It was about muslim extremism, radicalization and terrorism.
