Any Cricket Fans? England for the Ashes.

Post by Mowhawk »

I play this game and love it. I can't stand the Poms (English) in any sport, but surprise, surprise I'm barracking (rooting) for them in this Ashes series, why? Australia has dominated Cricket competitions for the last decade, and I like backing under-dogs. It is kind of David Vs Goliath.

Go Pommies. Laughing Laughing

Diversity is better, and I know most people here are not familiar with the game, and hopefully the tiny cricket followers here will volunteer to answer all your questions relating to the great game of cricket. Shoot it. Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Mow, I don’t play cricket but I used to love watching Cricket matches when I was in Pakistan. I read the news last week that Australia’s leg spinner Shane Warne became the first man to take 600 test wickets during the third Ashes test against England at Old Trafford. Well, test matches are so boring as compare to One-Day Matches. Anyway, if you don’t know the rules about the game, you will never gonna like it. Mow, are you a Wicket Keeper ?

Wise

Yeah, you are right Warne passed the 600 mark during the first innings in the recently drawn 3rd test. He is the best leg-spinner arround. I bat and bowl, but my strengths are in batting, like Viv Richards Laughing . Did you watch the second Ashes test? England won by 2 runs, and simply, it was the best test cricket ever. No, I only play limited overs kind of half a day cricket. Laughing

Lionheart

It is India and Pakistan's number ONE game, and if you only follow Yankee touch-football, then maybe that is why you are in a mess, learn cricket and it maybe the best therapy you been searching for. We don't sit infront of the T.V nd watch a whole test game.

Caddeey

My younger brother likes Tennis and we normally pay a visit every Jan to the Australian Open (during the early days when tickets are cheap), and you can tag along this coming one, but don't expect us to barrack for any individual. Daniel Vittori is a good player with a mediocre team. Laughing

And you ended up with Cadeey Laughing . Anyway been an All Blacks fan since my early school days, my buddies were a couple of Maori kids and there was no way that I could follow the Walabies. In those days I believed that we (Somalis) were related to Maoris Laughing . Since I moved to Sydney, I don't like Thugby (Rugby) League, so it is Union. I think this tough to call but the All-Blacks may come as winners at the end, they are too tough to beat. But never underestimate the South Africans, they beat the Wallabies in Perth last week.

Simple, it teaches you patience and self-discipline by playing long hours and not getting injured/strained or bored. That is why it is called a gentleman's game.

Mow,
I don’t watch cricket anymore because of two reasons. First, Americans don’t like this game. Secondly, i don't have a cable. Laughing Well, I really missed watching that game. I have not watched almost five years. I remember, it was more exciting when India and Pakistan play together. It is like a nuclear war between two rival countries. I see, you are a bat’s man. I still remember some of world-class batsmen like, Brain Lara from West-Indies, Said Anwar, from Pakistan and Tandukar from India. I have no idea if they are retired or not.

Cricket is not really a sport. It's just a past time game for those living in third world countries..something to pass the time while the water boils...u know kinda like baseball. But americans use baseball for "dharag dhac" purposes only...

A person may enjoy something you do not enjoy with and you may feel excited with something he doesn’t like it at all.
