Somaliland Birth Rate?

Post by Siciid85 »

As we know Somalia's birth rate is 43.33 and ranked eight in the worldest highest Birth Rate nations on The CIA World Fact Book. However there is alot of Infant mortality rate, Death rate due to ongoing wars, diseases, and lack of health care facilities. Life expectancy is not that long. What i would find interesting is to know the Birth Rate of Somaliland? since it has had peace for last 15 years and few conflicts, less diseases and improved health care system. We always also hear hebel ba hebel gursaday ini somaliland website articles.

Birth Rate for Somalia.

43/1000

10,000,000 /1000 = 10,000

10,000 x 43 = 430,000 births per year.

Now lets find out the birth rate for Somaliland a country of 3.5 million.

Birth Rate for Somaliland.

43/1000

3.500,000/1000 = 3500

3500 x 43 =150,500 births per year.

However since there is less wars, disease & famine compared to Somalia. I will round it up to 170,500 births per year.

birth rate = 17.5.

The higher the birth rate the better. Children are the country's future and a bigger population means a bigger workforce.

If somalis had peace and a good health system, we'd be in the hundred millions by now. :(

The infant mortality would be high i think because some people do not have access to maternity hospitals and midwives to care for them during pregnancy.... parents dont take up free vaccinations when they are offered

Somaliland has a high BR and DR. Also a high infant mortality rate and a low life expectancy . It's a typical LEDC. The population pyramid would be big at the bottom and smaller at the top. There would be a bigger proportion of younger ppl compared to the elderly . BR is high cos Somalis love kids.. Infant mortality rate , which is the number of children that die before their first birthday per 1000 live births, would be high cos everyone does not have access to hospitals and also children are not always immunised against certain diseases at birth. Also, lack of education about childbirth ?
DR is high because people die from shit they coulda been immunised/vaccinated against like Tetanus and healthcare , in general , is not good enough. Some ppl can't afford to see a doctor . Not everyone in Somaliland has enough to eat. That could be a cause .

Conditions in the miyii are worse . If someone is ill, they have to travel far to see a doc .

Things are even worse in the South due to dagaal.
