These are the things that Somalis and people all over the world need to understand about the terrostist entity that calls itself Somaliland:

1. The suicide bomber who blew up in Hargeisa in 2008 hails from Somaliland.
2. The suicide bombers who attack Somali civilians in Mogadishu daily all hail from Somaliland.
3. The Amiir of Al-Shabaab, Ahmed Abdi Godane, hails from Somaliland.
4. The second in Command of Al-Shabaab, Ibrahim Al-Afghani, hails from Somaliland.
5. The representative of Al-Shabaab in Burao is Sheekh Ali warsame hails from Somaliland and is a close relative of Axmed Mohamed Siilaanyo, the current president of Somaliland.
6. The biggest base of all terrorist activities in Somalia is Burao and Hargeisa, two main cities that are part of the entity that calls itself Somaliland.
7. The Dahabshiil company that finances the terrorist activities in all of Somalia has its headquarters in Hargeisa, Somaliland and its owners hail from Somaliland.
8. The commander of the terrorist activities that was and still taking place in Galgala mountains, Siciid Atam, has his biggest base in Burao, Togdheer and he is financed by Somaliland intelligence.
9. Somaliland's terrorist activities and attacks agianst the Ayn region (capital Buuhoodle) is proof of the the terrorist nature of this entity that calls itself Somaliland.
10. Somaliland's current foreign minister Mohamed Abdillahi Omar has sent his son to join Al-Shabaab and to support Ahmed Abdi Godane, the leader of Al-Shabaab. The young son of Somaliland's foreign minister who has joined Al-Shabaab was qouted saying "his father encouraged him to support the activities of uncle Ahmed Abdi Godane". Keep in mind the young man did not say his father sent him to support Islam but to support "the activities of uncle Ahmed Abdi Godane".
11. Faisal Ali Waraabe, the leader of the UCIS party in Hargeisa, Somaliland, has called for the war in Mogadishu should be increased twofold after he met Somaliland's president Ahmed Mohamed Siilaanyo on February 22, 2011. Here you have one of the leaders of that entity encouraging the war effort led by Ahmed Abdi Godane be increased.

Somaliland and its agents in Somalia led by Ahmed Abdi Godane and Dahabshiil is using terrorism to prolong the suffering of the Somalis while at the sametime hosting agents in its territory. The world need to understand the root cause of the problem in Somalia and that is majority of the terrorit activities are masterminded by Somaliland intelligence agents and militia while the activities are taking place in Mogadishu, Galguduud, Boosaaso, and Ayn region of Somalia.

Later that month members of the Somaliland security service were killed and captured fighting alongside a group aligned with al-shabaab in the Galala mountains. Ultimately, the group’s leader Siad atam fled to Somaliland and was treated in hospitals in Somaliland where he is still believed to be hiding.

Memebers of al-shabaab, and other terrorist groups have safe heavens in Somaliland, they go to Somaliland when they want to rest and plan terrorist operations and provides travel assistance for terrorists groups. It is reported that the leader of al-shabaab visited his family in dubia twice through family connections to Somaliland’s travel assistance. The Somaliland security service deliberately misinforms the international community by arresting their enemies and labeling them as terrorists while helping, arming and assisting the real terrorists, to keep southern Somalia in war.

Maritime Piracy Based Out of Puntland

Piracy was not a major issue off the coast of Somalia before 1990; however, there were some reported irregular incidences of armed robbery against small fishing or leisure craft. A structured form of piracy developed in the mid- 1990s in which armed groups claimed that they were authorized coast guards and were present to protect Somalia’s fishing resources, claiming that vessels were fishing illegally in territorial waters, and thus holding the boats and individuals for ransom or penalties.

In 1992, no reported incidents of piracy occurred in Somalia waters, and through 1993 few incidents were recorded. In 1994, piracy increased dramatically in the waters off Puntland. Even though piracy increased in 1994-1995, statistically the incidents compared similarly to piracy originating from other states in the region, such as Kenya, Eritrea, and Yemen. Puntland, including the contested Sanaag region, held 90 percent of captured ships and also 70 percent of the recorded attacks during 1995-2000 took place in its adjacent waters. The Sanaag and Sool regions fall within the geographical borders of colonial British Somaliland, and when Somaliland succeeded from the rest of Somalia in 1991, it claimed that Sool and Sanaag regions were part of its territory.

However, Puntland established its regional administration in 1998, and claimed both regions fell under its jurisdiction on the basis of ethnicity. Most clans in Sool and Sanaag are associated with Puntland, including the Warasngeli and Dulbahante, and the Marjerrten, the majority clan, are all from the Harti sub-group of the Daarod. It had been estimated that 60 percent of the ships captured are taken into ports in the Puntland region, the rest going to Mudug in the Harardhere-Hobyo area.

Somali piracy rose to global prominence with an increase in attacks during 2008 (111
attacked and 47 hijacked)7, record ransom payments (a reported $3.2 million was paid
for the release of the MV Faina) 8, and the deployment of over 30 naval vessels from
over a dozen nations in the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean.9 It is noteworthy that
actual and attempted hijackings rose significantly in spite of the deployment of a multination
armada in late 2008. Records indicate that hijackings between January and end-
May 2009 surpassed the total for 2008; also, attacks during the first quarter of 2009
were ten times higher than the same period in 2008. Somali piracy affects vessels from
various parts of the world and impacts global trade via its effects on the global shipping
industry (an estimated $500 million in 2008).10
