Every month, a hundred Somalis capsized off yemen shore, 80 Somalis capsized off Libyan shore, 200 drown off Turkey.

If these idiots want to commit suicide, why don't they just kill themselves in Somalia?

and why aren't the smugglers not arrested,or shot for crumping 200 people on a little fisher's boat, that is made for two people?

isn't there a media awarness that tells these ppl the dangers of their travels, and that thousands have perish before them?


54 Somalis die in boat accident: UN


Geneva, Feb 24 (DPA) The UN's refugee agency said Thursday that 54 Somalis had drowned while trying to flee their war-torn country for the relative safety of Yemen.

Three other people on board were smugglers and also died when the small boat capsized, the agency said. Only one person survived the accident, which occurred Sunday, swimming for 23 hours to reach Yemen's coast.

He told UNHCR that his family and other passengers had boarded a small two-engine boat near the port town of Bossaso in northern Somalia on Friday evening. On average it takes three days for boats to cross the Gulf of Aden to Yemen.

Puntland needs to their job and stop this mascare of civilians, then need to arrest these illegal smugglers that are crowding hundreds of women and children on a small boat and than dumping them on sea.
it was just in 2008 that 114 drowned after being forced to jump off the boat and it capsized.

Even with the heavies war going on in Moqadishu over the last few days all international eyes are focused in Pland.

They don't depart from Bosaso at all. These migrants leave all of the coasts from Africa and reach Yemen and Libya. Those who go to Libya 1st get there by land and then take boat from Libya. Those who depart PL don't take the boats from main Bosaso port but coasts which no city is near and this ussually takes place at night. I just wonder if USA with all of the resources in the world can't stop the Mexican and other migrants from the Southern border, how it is possible in Pl to stop it?
