I suspect its a combination of majerteen greed for power, and a dressing down from papa melez.
The SSC as an independant armed movement will not take shit from boontland and will not accept second level citizen status.

This removes the quick fix option for Somaliland and makes things harder to deal with in bohudle..

If puntland gave full support to the SSC and actually attempted to invade and physically intervene then somalilands army will be unleached and free to operate.
Unleashing the army on the SSc will cause a clan relations fiasco and harm our reputation internationally, while forcing lascanood residents to fully side with SSC and rebell..
