Well as you know fundings are getting pretty tough for charities, especially here in England. There are several organisations that might help you though, one being the UN, two other well established charities, three rich well-off people and so on. The best way forward though is to MAKE the funds yourselves, and start making some changes then get some media attention, finally depending on how great of a work you are doing you'll get help InshaAllah easily.
Making the funds yourselves can be very easy and simple, an event can generate 2,000 for you. My sister & her friends did it, you can also get permission from local councils (you have to be registered I think) and a couple of you go with buckets around, it might be little, but every little helps.I would go with the event though, a large one too, get cheap entertainment/or if Islamic event get Shaykhs that will give you discount and know you are doing it for charity. MAKE SURE TO COOK THE FOOD yourselves, people make huge money out of that. Don't make wedding food though, just bariis and hilib isku dhexe kariis & equally easy desert, like jelly with bit of fruits. Go to the market to buy the fruits, you get ridiculous amount for like a £1.00 or so.
Khair InshaAllah.

We are focusing on education and providing relief to the poor. We have been raising money from only individuals, and so far we have built one school, provided water and food to areas badly affected by the droughts, and planted loads of trees. We are planning to have presence in every region insha'allah. We have only been around for a year and we are registered with the charity commission here in the UK. Applying for funds from the big donors have been a daunting and time consuming experience so far but insha'allah keyr.

Re: Charites/NGOs in Somalia
Executive great topic bro, and i hope your mission is successful inshallah. hope we can exchange some advice, i along with relatives and close friends a group of my neighbours together have created a charity almost a year ago, we spent most of the time collecting pennies and it has really been uneffective since the money we collect is usually not enough to start any meaningful projects that we was anticipating like building schools, but we still manage to send the money to local NGOs in Somalia and then they use it to finance the schools, sanitation and other thing. just recently we have created a huge base locally with more than 20 hands on members, but we still lack major finance and its still dependant on meager funding from some of the Somalis in the diaspora.
im hoping i can make it more official, how do i register it and will this enable us to channel more funding from more established bodies like UN, EU other NGOs etc
i think my advantage is we have alot of people who support us and it is growing support so events and collecting money has become our expertise, but we seriously lack the official status.

Re: Charites/NGOs in Somalia
Ask local companies for donations. In the US companies get a tax benefit for charitable givings so if you can right up a good proposal and submit it to different companies you maybe able to get funds that way.
Others have already been mentioned, such as the UN, EU, and larger NGO's have money that they maybe able to give
