Pensioner stoned to death in AMERICA 'because he made unwanted sexual advances to a male friend'

By Daily Mail Reporter
19th March 2011

A 70-year-old man was beaten to death with a rock stuffed in a sock after he allegedly made unwanted sexual advances towards a friend.
John Thomas, 28, from Philadelphia, told police he killed Murray Seidman because the Bible refers to the stoning of homosexuals.
According to a criminal complaint, Thomas hit his victim 10 times in the head and then checked to make sure he was dead.
It said: 'John Thomas stated that he read in the Old Testament that homosexuals should be stoned in certain situations.
'The answer John Thomas received from his prayers was to put an end to the victim's life.
'John Thomas stated that he struck the victim approximately 10 times in the head. After the final blow, he made sure the victim was dead.'
Landsdown Police chief Dan Kortan said: 'He is a deeply religious man. Or so he says.'
Delaware County Medical Examiner Fredric Hellman ruled that Mr Seidman had been dead for five to 10 days before Thomas was discovered banging doors in the hallway of his apartment building on January 12.
Police said Thomas, who is the executor and sole beneficiary of Mr Seidman's will, returned to the apartment and pretended that he had just discovered his body.

Mr Seidman, of Landsdowne, was a long-time worker in the laundry department at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, where he was described as 'very popular'.
Mr Kortan added: 'As far as we are concerned, he was a model citizen.'
