Send your well wishes to Yussuf Hassan Abdi

Post by Lord Diplock »

Who is contesting the Kamakunji (Eastleigh is part of it) Constituency by-election. He is an impressive man with an impressive background, in the last election, a madow was elected because the Somali votes was divided and perhaps the same thing will happen again. I wish him all the best. He used to work for the UN.

He is toolka, that is all U need to know and he is not Abdalle

Remember, he is same guy I inquired you about when he was last running. Just before the election, he visited U.S and I met in MN.
Good luck to him, hope he wins, we need Somali MPs Nairobi. That seat will be more powerful than any another Somali seat I think.

I dont believe that bro, we have 11 Somali MPs, in Kenya, number matters...but he is probably the most educated Ogadeen politician, wish him all the best.

My understanding of MPs power depends on where they represent. For instance, Fafi & Dujis don't have the same power. Dujis seat being in the regional capital city outweigh Fafi. So, I think in that sense, Nairobi will have more power.

Hard Rock: one could argue that Dujis is a more prestigious seat than Fafi since Garissa town is part of Dujis, but one cannot say the MP for Dujis is more powerful than the MP for Fafi. It depends with the individual, at the moment, one could say, the MP for Fafi, Major (Retired) Aden Sugow (Abudwaak, Reer Haruun) is more powerful than the current Dujis MP, Mr. Aden Barre Dualle (Abdudwaak, Reer Yahye).

Patriot: there is a by election taking place and if he does not contest it, don't U think he would have less chance in the next general election?....I am pretty sure he is more educated than Farah Dawara.

He is Reer Abdille, isn't Reer Abdille the back bone of Ogadeen?    :P

At the moment Ogadeen MPs are elected from 5 constituencies, 4 in Garissa County (exclusive) and 1 seat in Wajir County (2 constituencies are represented by Degodia men and 1 constituency by Ajuuraan).

Here are the names of the MPs, constituencies and qabiils.

Aden Barre Dualle, Dujis (basically Garissa town and sorrounding area), Abudwaak, Reer Yahye.

Mohamed Haji Yussuf Abdi, Ijaara constituency, Abdalla, Aden Abdalla

Faarah Maalim Dawara, Lagdera constituency, Cowlyahan, Reer Tuurcaade (Reer Caawis)

Major [Rtd] Aden Sugow, Fafi constituency, Abudwaak, R. Haaruun..

All above are from Garissa.

Mahamud Sirat, Wajir south constituency, Bah Geri, don't know his sub clan.

And there are two nominated MPs, they don't represent any constituencies....theyare Ambassador Mohamed Abdi Affey, Maakahiil.....and Sofia Abdi Nuur, Abdalla, Hassan Aden.

Hope this helps bro..any questions, U can always ask me.
