Well for 20 years hadi madaafic iyo balaayo kale lugu garaaci lahayn it would have been much, much better, unfortunately. People don't know but B Xaawo has been the scene of the most ferocious civil war battles. Also its the place in Somalia where Xabashi get the most hands on then any other town. All this while a few miles away Mandeera gets better and better.

Check this out

Caydiid along with USC captured it.
It was reliberated, with the fiercest battle happening in B Xaawo, with the rest of Gedo being abandoned right away by USC
Itixaad Capture it
SNF/Cumar Xaaji capture it from them with Eitho bombarding it to the ground
Reer Xassan/Hawarsame Vs Reer Axmed/Calidheere fight on and off for control over it for a couple of years, and the town was ramsacked to the ground each time.

A couple of years of peace

Then from 2009 to Present severe battles over it, with devastating effects to the population.

But from looking at a glass half full mentality I think this town, has shown they are resiliant enough and even with all the carnage they've managed to stay relevant and survive. Case in point Reer Mandeera even though they have a stable Gov, are dependent on B Xaawo for a lot of commodities they cannot find in Mandeera. Kenya keeps the border open even when shishkabab are in control not for humanitarian reasons, but they realize that Mandeera is dependent on it for certain things, and B Xaawo has some very smart ganacsade. Hopefully B Xaawo and deegaanada dhan Soomali deganyihiin, especilly koonfurta get some stability.

Murax,

Trust me am very much aware of the history of not just beled but almost all of gedo, they share that problem with most of somalia. But even after the distruction these people all ways manage to rebuild and stay optamistic, amazing realy its something we wont be able to understand from the comforts of our western homes.
What i ment was somalis have no eye for photagraphy, with all the problems beledxawo or any other somali town may be having theres alot of beauty we wont get to see becouse the images are not available.
