The British or colonials had both negative and positive effect on Somalis. This above clip is just a historical fact, whether one interprets it negative or positive is individual choice. I for one think that this battalion could have been positive in that we could have learnt from the British who were at the time leaders in military warfare. Imagine had we excelled in learning from the British we would today be occupying Ethiopia and not the other way round.

Proud of being slaves to the British! Typical reer triangle

Wallahi if I was you I would wipe out the years 1880-1960 from history and make a new calendar. I would hate for your children to remember their grandfather's generation be known as those who bent over for the colonial white man.

As for me, the Ugaas of my tribe (Ugaas Doodi) was arrested by the British for anti colonial efforts and was sent to the Comoros Islands as a prisoner of war. Same with the Makhiris, they attacked the Brits and their leader was sent to Seychelles.

Let's not act as if it was only "reer triangle" that was in the camel corps.

RuralMan08 you are running around with jaberti propagenda in the forums again? this is what happens when people have no idea. Garaad Maxamud Ali shire was Pro British and served the queen's interests until the british used and abused him like a condom and saw no use in him anymore and locked him in shackles away to seychelles.

Here is the so called Makhiir Suldaan recieving a medal for serving the interests of Britain.

This is just disgusting, im ashamed that some of my fellow northern Somalis (Isaaq´s) are proud of this. Yet they deny that they are sharing the same country with their fellow brothers.

The british did far more damage to the Isaaqs mentality then any other colonialist. And for that i will never bow down to a drug lord whore who goes by the name of "queen"

Even though im ashamed, its not something to deny that even the leader of the darawish was opposed by Isaaq loyal to british basterds.

I even read 2 swedish books based on the darawish and the struggle against Ethiopia and UK. I was all in shock when i read that the "british" soldiers fighting the darawish wasnt all that "british"in most cases, in fact it was Isaaq men loyal to the british that sacrificied their Sons so that Colonialism could continue and darawish be defeated.

I dont care what clan you are from, but whoever supported white foreigners over a fellow Somali is bastard in my eyes and it doesnt matter if it is a stranger or if it was my relative, i would f-king be ashamed.

In some ways this whore "recognition" hunt north Somalia is after, reminds me of this colonial shit.

Primitive mofokers. Today you have no country and each and everyone of you takes orders from a white man in one capacity or another. Why dont you stand up against the system of whatever white country you live in? You less power today then your ancestors did so dont pretend that you are special.
History is a witness no matter how special Somali pretend to be they were nothing but savage nomads who spend their nights planning to rob the camels of their neighbors and daytime robbing those camels. We were/are nothing special in the grand scheme of humanity and the only place we are important is in the head of a deluded farax.
I for one wish the british had stayed and civilized the farax's and turned the country into a nation, instead of what it is today. A disgraceful place thats run by people who are as responsible as apes..
Lets be real....
