My theory on Somali behavior

Post by grandpakhalif »

For Everything you will find an answer in Islam, I inquired on why Somalis are so arrogant, impulsive and proud and I inquired through hadith. Wallahi Islam is amazing because it will explain everything for you in fine detail.

Rasullah SAWS says:

“All the Prophets of Allah (p) were shepherds. The Prophet (sa) was asked. ‘Were you also?’ He replied, ‘Yes, I herded them for the people of Mecca for a little money.’"

Ibn Hajar states, "The wisdom behind having the Prophets as shepherds before prophethood is that they may become skilled in herding a flock, as they will be responsible for their respective nations in the future. In herding, one attains forbearance and mercy, and endures patience, for when a shepherd is obliged to gather his flock and herd it from one area to another at once, knowing the traits of all, and all the while protecting from predators, he has thus attained the skills necessary to lead the nation and protect it from its enemies, both within and abroad."

Sheeps are soft, fragile creatures, which necessiates the herder to become merciful and patient, it gives him good traits.

Somalis are primarily known as camel herders. Why didn't Allah choose camels to be herd by prophets? because camel are arrogant tough creatures who can withstand extreme desert conditions, they are more violent and prideful. Every shepherd will have reflective traits from his animals, Somalis reflect the same traits as camels! No wonder we love our tribes.

Lets put this theory to the test:

Rahanweyn, Bantu Jareer and some Dir clans are primiraly known as farmers. Most of these clans are peaceful people because they don't herd camels. Check out the Oromos, they are primiraly known as farmers too, they are relatively peaceful people.

Unless Somalis transition from camel herding to farming, this conflict will never end.

I've spoken about this over a year ago. I mentioned how Allah hates the camel herders and loves the shepherds.
