It'll just make other dictators dig in deeper. I'm sure quite a few people are patting themselves on the back in Pyongyang for refusing to disarm unlike Gaddafi who acquiesced to western demands.

Our dear son, Excellency, Baraka Hussein Abu oumama, your intervention is the name of the U.S.A. is a must, so that Nato (NATO) would withdraw finally from the Libyan affair," Gadhafi wrote. "Libya should be left to Libyans within the African union frame."

According to Tony Blair, the Libya intervention is "`The Opportunity of a Century" because Libya has "fantastic" financial resources, Brilliant tourist spots and obviously oil. Destroy the country then re-build it to their own vision and profit from it big-time.

Gaddafi is playing with one of his well-known tactics. He is trying to find a room where some form of negotiation starts until the alliance against him finally gives up. He has heard Bob Gates' remark that there is no compelling US national interest in Libya, so he is trying to create some opening and false pretense as if he ready to go thru negotiation but he is only buying time.
