Honor or blasphemy?
The Prophet Muhammad PBUH is depicted with the great law givers of mankind on the edifice of the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has refused to remove the image. Should Muslims feel honored or outraged? Discuss

Re: Honor or blasphemy?
Is that really supposed to depict the prophet mohammed or some arab scholar/teacher whatever
Re: Honor or blasphemy?
It's meant to represent the Prophet Muhammad, alongside 18 other law givers.Monsieur wrote:Is that really supposed to depict the prophet mohammed or some arab scholar/teacher whatever
Re: Honor or blasphemy?
Blasphemy! Islam does not allow pictures and least of all that of our beloved prophet.

it is Blasphemy because if we look at hidden message of the image.
we see a man holding the quraan on one hand and the other hand holding a sword which indicates that islam was spread by the sword!

This is how one of the Justices responded to CAIR, who raised a similar objection:
Rehnquist dismissed CAIR’s objections, saying that the depiction was “intended only to recognize him [Mohammad]…as an important figure in the history of law; it was not intended as a form of idol worship.” He also reminded CAIR that “swords are used throughout the Court’s architecture as a symbol of justice and nearly a dozen swords appear in the courtroom friezes alone.”
Re: Honor or blasphemy?
It is not meant as an idol worship yet thats exactely what it is. Islam clearly forbids the use of pictures in any form without exception.union wrote: This is how one of the Justices responded to CAIR, who raised a similar objection:

Nomand is right about the subtle, hidden message in the picture. It sends out the message that Islam was spread by the sword.
Re: Honor or blasphemy?
Well to depict any prophet is considered blasphemous in our diin. So no, there is no honour this. Had they made the prophet somewhat faceless or his face incomplete, than that would have been better

So much for honourSupreme Court has refused to remove the image. Should Muslims feel honored
Newayz who wants their honour, and if they really wanted to "honour" the Muslims they'd respect their wishes
Depicting the Khair al Khalqillah in any form is not allowed
Re: Honor or blasphemy?
I can understand prohibitions against offensive depictions, or depictions used for worship, but this depiction on the Supreme Court seems to me an honorable acknowledgement of the Prophet's role in bringing law and order to the untamed tribes of Arabia, and not to mention a great mechanism for proselytization.

Re: Honor or blasphemy?
Its not about good depiction or bad depiction you cannot depict Rasuluallah saw even in his full glory. The issue is with depicting him all together, he disapproved of it, the sahaabi disapproved of it. It is unacceptable.union wrote:I can understand prohibitions against offensive depictions, or depictions used for worship, but this depiction on the Supreme Court seems to me an honorable acknowledgement of the Prophet's role in bringing law and order to the untamed tribes of Arabia, and not to mention a great mechanism for proselytization.
