even though Saudi arabia accounted for half the global sales of arms last year,has a very modern arsenal of western weapons,and trained by the americans the saudi army had their ass handed over to them by a huthi shia militas and lost over 113 soldiers to them.not to mention their units are disconnected,incappable to carry out any real tasks since its headed by people who dont know a shit,members of the royal family,if they ever get into a conflict with Iran,the saudis will be eaten a live unless they are saved by uncle sam walle.

Actually, the Saudis were able to achieve their objectives in the recent campaign against the Shias of Yemen. They depleted their ability to pose any credible challenge and even though it was a mismatch, it was still a huge thing for the Saudis because for the first time in their pathetic existence they were able to actually defeat someone.

About arms sales, these Arab monarchs just buy everything they don't need simply to sustain the Western Military-Complex. If you study the major military purchases by the Arab countries, you will note that most, if not all these purchases were done when the West was facing an economic recession. Weirdly enough, the military applications of the arms the Saudis purchase has minimal military value YET THEY ARE CHARGED A PREMIUM FOR LEMONS.

The only Arab country that buys weapons on merits is the UAE

The UAE for example actually uses its weapons, they spend hundreds of million in keeping their pilots flying,, the airforce is optimized for fighting Iran.
Iran has nothing that can match the F-16 block C that the UAE has.

There will not be much of a need for dogfights because they radar will detect Iranian Mirage F-1,s Mig -29s and Azarkashs first, and launch amraams.

The Iranian Navy will be a problem, because they UAe has weak anti-submarine capabilities and they have nothing to counter Iranian shkvals or sunbeams or even the ancient silkworms which will knock out most UAE ships..

This is why they are happy to let the Americans die for them..

UAE's F-16 Block 60 are the most advanced F-16s in the world and in the hands of Pakistani Pilots will easily overwhelm and wipe out the Iranian Airforce in no time. More than the Iranian Navy, I think it's their missile capabilities that's a real deterrent

So the UA has one of the best aircraft in the world and some of the best pilots in the world, pakistani pilots, which are 1 on 1 proven to be better than your average US pilot.

That was the rumor. The US said no to the F-16 Blk 60 if the Pakis would fly them, but UAE threatened to look somewhere else and the Pakis were allowed to fly them. There's a rumor the UAE vipers manned by PAF pilots were on standby during Kargil conflict in 1999

Missle capabilities are overstated , they can hit anywhere in the UAE at will, but the fire is not accurate, it will be more of a terror weapon...

but that will mean that all the coastal bases and airbases in Iran will be wiped out in the first 24 hours..


the problem is that the missle launchers are mobile and hard to find, even with american sattelites and US navy aircraft searching for them as well.
They can terrorise the UAE and even hit US bases at will for weeks and maybe month on end..

Iran will be one tough nut to crack..

and forget about ground war, the US will have to withdraw all troops from Europe, South Korea and Japan, and move the entire US army to invade Iran, and
they will still need 3 times that number to hold all of Iran.
This is why its impossible..

Thats doubtfull it will be a diplomatic fiasco if UAE vipers faced the Indian airforce..

Its sad though, that Pakistans Airforce is fuked, due to having the US as an unreliable ally...

weapons producing firms/countries must be trying hard to start a middle east confrontation so that they can sell more weapons to oil rich kingdoms.

I think Iran would come out victorious because they are coming to the field with home grown ingenuity and technology while the kingdoms are fighting with leased equipment (rented fighter jets from Hertz/Budget and "rent a shooter" from Pakistan).

PAF will be able to change the military balance within the next couple years. So many cutting-edge weapons have been ordered and are in the process of being inducted. Btw, the Eireye AWACS System is more proven than the Phalcon. After the failure of the Israelis to stop simple rocket attacks from hizbollah, I think the quality of their products can be better judged now.

Did you follow this week's Nasr tactical nuclear missile test (battlefield use) by Pakistan? Basically, the event of an offensive war, Pakistan will wipe out the attacking army on it's own land. It's a game changer and the Indians have nothing similar
