This impulsiveness which led to the expulsion of senior military experts who were in Somalia to upgrade Somali military capabilities to win both conventional and unconventional warfare was self-inflicted disability. From that decision Somalia dispossessed the only true ally the country had in international arena. Russians returned to their country leaving many military sophisticated types of equipment behind but who operates? Consequently, Somalia launched blitzkriegs against Ethiopia for land expansionistic policy. In short of period of time, the ammunition run out, in bipolar world, Somalia resorted to ask supplies to the US, unfortunately, her request was turned down, Somalia was neither concerned by the USSR nor cared about by the USA. Everyone knew that Somalia was rogue and irresponsible country; however, not to wage war against peace-loving Ethiopia was strongly advised by state foreign advisers but Siyad Barre refused to listen to them and it was the first “missed opportunity” in Somalia. His decision to go to war caused thousands of people both combatants as well as non-combatants to maim and lose their lives.






With the help of Cubans, Soviets, and other communists, the little victory by Somalia army was turned into humiliating defeat! Defections within Somali troops had begun and then economy collapsed; Somali begun to enter its depths of despair.
