One of the things I have observed recently has been the rise of animosity towards foreigners of Muslim origin in the west. This is directly a result, in my opinion of two things
1. The economies in Europe & US not doing well
2. Backlash from wars overseas.
During times of Economic difficulty, local populations are generally known to become hostile to their foreign inhabitants. Sometimes this hostility is government propogated through the Media. This hostility can lead to low levels of harrassment that is systamically used to drive out a population that is not wanted or welcome. The argument propogated is foreginers are taking jobs away from the natives as well as bankrupting the nation. This argument is currently being waged against Hispanics and illegals in the U.S.
Another cause of hostilities occur when a group of refugees/Immigrants live in a nation which is waging a war presumably against some entity in their former homeland. If the war causes many casualties or actually comes close to home, then hostilities towards such a group is likely to rise.
In Europe, a nasty amalgamation of economic woes and the "war on terror" has resulted in radicalizing the local native population which has directly been impacted psychologically or physically by suicide operations reaching their cities. Worse, the media has not let a day gone by without vilifying or portraying the culture and religion of their attackers as the basis for the attacks. This indirectly binds all who practice and propagate the religion and culture of the attackers, marking them and identifying them as the "enemy".
We have reached a stage in our time were we can expect physical attacks to occur.
So where do you think such attacks would occur?
I am guessing Sweden.
