the professor never mentioned ethiest? He said non Muslim Somalis and minorities should be protected and have fully rightes as majorty MUSLIM Somalis. i dont see nothing wrong whit that, i fully agree whit proff Samatar.

Non Muslim Somalis have right to enjoy freedom to practise their religion in Somalia. thats future Somalia.

This is the best speech from a professor of somali. I agree with him 100%. Even though I disagree with him many issues but this event he handle very great.. This is our older generation. He is educated. You should listen to him with obedient ears and not your low-second-hand-former-mooryaan-left-ear.

Of course, you're a liar. He didn't defende any spiritual stance. Instead, he defended PLURALISM. Do you know what that means? He even gave great hypothetical, asking what would happen if the US declared that the country is no longer pluralistic and only Christians can call it home. Pluralism always beats exclusim. I can't for the love of me understand how anyone can disagree with that AND still live in pluralistic society.

No. You can always pray under a tree or even on the beach. But you can't sleep under or on the beach. Thus, if governments are going to spend money building things, they should build shelters for the homeless, disabled, veterans, the indigent, etc. Of course this doesn't include "national symbols," like National Mosque of Somalia in the capital similar to that mosque in Islamabad.

Well if you're coming from his angle, that is democracy and liberalism, then wuu saxsanyahay. He obviously sees the American state as a model one. However, if you come from an Islamic perspective, what he is suggesting is unacceptable. Al most all Somalis who aren't Muslims, are apostates. Apostates are not give room in an Islamic society. If you can find someone who already non muslim, then bring him.
