Christian missionaries admit they want to convert Somalia

Post by Coeus »

Swedish evangelical missionaries have tried to infiltrate Somalia since 1898, read this article published today by swedish media.

And he openly admits that he wants to convert poor Somali refugees coming to Sweden.

As early as 1898 started EFS mission in Somalia for later thrown out of the country from 1936 to 1937 when the Italians took over. During 1980 - and 1990's could re-establish contact with the country in terms of relief work .- There is a heart of Somalia in the ETUC and from the fall, we sponsor three young Somalis theology studies in Addis Ababa. The idea is that they should prepare to establish a Somali assembly, said Erik Johansson.Sedan New Year is also Andrew Thornell, finished with his theological studies at Johannelund last summer, and Somali Faisal half-staff for the Somali mission. It is a collaboration with OM Sweden and the Pentecostal Assembly of Engineering. Faisal is not on the conference but have traveled to Africa, but Andrew is in place .- I have lived in Sudan, 1.5 years and read Arabic. Together with an OM team, I learned how to communicate with muslimer.Deras project will run for two years and will focus on refugee populations in Somalia, one of the largest with at least 40 000 people .- They are an unreached group of people, "says Andreas. - What we know there are a dozen Christians among them, but there may be more. Most people do not talk about it, in Somalia killed you right away if you become a Christian and there is strong social pressure in Sweden. They can be excluded and have difficulty in many ways if it is found that they are Christians, or are det.Faisal was a Christian when he came to Sweden and is very open about their faith. Perhaps too open, "says Andrew. He has also received death threats .- Our whole project started with Faisal, who is a member of Immanuel Church in Örebro, was told that EFS had a mission station and hospital in the city he comes in Somalia, so he rang up. Now we have the task to arrange meeting places for Christian Somalis in Sweden, try to find them, make contacts and networking via the Internet to encourage and support them.

Honestly I have more respect for Agnostics than people who convert to modern day Christianity. The same people who proliferated Christianity around the world are today for the most part Agnostics/athiests because they can see their history and how the religion of Christianity today is a religion made by man for man.

Far from it, but it still stands for me to say I will have respect for Agnostics before I do Christian converts.

Respect people of the book so long as they believe in one god.
