On early of Saturday the transitional federal government forces with the backing of African Union troops [AMISOM] have repelled Islamist militants from Bondhere and Shibis districts on the northern part of the capital.
“We can confirm that our forces now control 80% of the capital.” Gen Abdukarin told reporters on Saturday.
Meanwhile Benadir regional administration announced today that they will commence reconstructing roads and destroyed buildings in the town after the expelling of Islamist fighters.
At least 15 people were killed and twenty more wounded in the Saturday’s fresh gun battle. heallth official of Madina hospital told RBC Radio.
The fighting which erupted on the early morning had spread on the east side of the capital and government officials told that they will continue their attempt to sweep the Islamist rebels from the capital.
