the site ( somaliareport) is not owned by any somali so i doubt they would post some rumours that were started in a coffee shop.XimanJaale wrote:It's fake, this rumour was started by that Hiil Qaran party.

Re: Farmaajo Resigning
Wallahi Farmaajo is too pure for this. Both Sheikh Sharif and Sharif Hassan are tuugo who only posture towards each other at the expense of the TFG and people. I wouldn't say Sheikh Sharif personally is a bad person but power corrupts and now he will sell his soul to the devil just to continue being president one more year. Also, it is obvious Sharif Hassan never really wanted to oppose the TFG and have a new start risking his own position of power, combining loss of speaker and then failure in his run for presidency. He just wanted to have leverage over Sheikh Shari. If Farmaajo realizes the kind of people he is working with and if that is what Sharif Hassan and Sheikh Sharif agreed to, Farmaajo shouldn't resign. He should make sure he uses his powers in the TFG charter against the president like Nuur Cadde did (it was Nuur Cadde who forced negotiation with ICU-Djibouti moving Abdullahi Yusuf over and then himself left the scene) and force an election and once all three of them have been moved over, he should fly back to New York and his job on hold.

Re: Farmaajo Resigning
Gemini's article is right about the prospect of resignation being brought up although Farmaajo has refused to resign. Sheikh Sharif knows he stands no chance of reelection if an election happens so he is desperate and Sharif Hassan cornered him by saying he will accept a year-extension if Farmaajo leaves and he is given 9 out of the 18 ministers. Sheikh Sharif forked himself over by even bringing up the proposal to Farmaajo and Farmaajo categorically rejected. It was expected he would reject it, not only that he resigns, but also that Sharif Hassan will have even a single post in the cabinet. Just two hours before he flew to Uganda, he made this speech to the parliament. The man went there ready to fight:XimanJaale wrote:It's fake, this rumour was started by that Hiil Qaran party.
"How could he request negotiations? We don't have political parliamentary parties. All of the TFI's today are basically a single party. He is the Speaker of the Parliament, not majority leader of a party that can negotiate with a minority government. Does he understand basic politics?"

"Now he says he wants some of the ministers. His place in the cabinet. For what? In what manner can this be established legitimately? What is the purpose and the end goal? How does this support the resurgence of a Somali state? But more than that, how can this take place politically and in what path would this even come about in a normal functioning political framework? The whole thing is a joke"

"The speaker is not an honest person and nor does he care about the general good. We brought about the proposals concerning the extension when the parliament spoke about theirs. Instead of doing his job and taking the issue with the parliament, he requested to meet with me. I refused to meet him. I told him deliberations are not between persons and your only job is to open parliament, not negotiate proposals. You are not a leader of a political party that can negotiate on behalf of that party with the ruling party. No parties exist. You have a job description, understand your job."
