He is not. I think you are litterally reading the events without reading much into it. Shariif Sakiin is just a vassal used by UN and IGAD, who are keeping Somalia in the status quo. He just understood that game and always make his services available to them. An influential guy is one with principles and many connections. Keep in mind he acts the same way that agents for foreign states behave. When two Shariifs went to Kampala, it was Mahiga and Musaveni who were running the show. Farmaajo was singled out long ago when he stood up to the UN and demanded them to move to Mogadishu, and also demanded an audit of how they spend money donated to the long suffering Somalis.
