I think they produce whatever they think their customers want to listen to. Love & romance songs usually tend to sell more than deep/philosphical tunes that get people thinking hard & re-evaluating their condition. Its about feel good, for women in particular, same thing with romantics made by Hollywood, this stuff sells like crazy. People just gobble it up, classic example of what demand & supply looks like. Listeners want to feel giddy & in-love, they don't want to feel miserable & caught in a temporal warp of unwanted thoughts & emotions. This spans across cultues too, not just Somalis.
