Post by James Dahl »

I have been working on this for a while, researching the history of Mogadishu. Here is the list:

What I gather from this, is that this answers the "Do you believe that Somalia was destroyed by qabiilists?" thread question. i.e that white people are responsible for the disarray of today's Somalia

Actually, Mogadishu is something of the past. It's like Atlantis, no point of learning it's history, just a bedtime story for the young criminals.

Impressive work. The Hebrews ran Somalia? Fascinating. Had they stayed instead of turning the place over to the Arab imperialists whose memes continue to afflict the nation the place might today be a bustling metropolis to which old English cougars with badly applied makeup would flock in the summer to land themselves a barefoot little urchin on the prowl for a visa to England's green and pleasant land. Pity.

The early Jewish rulers weren't Hebrews, they were Jewish Arabs, the "Baladi" Jews. They still exist in Yemen today.

The dynasty became Syriac Christian under Malik Sharahbiil Yakif Cabd ul-Kaliil.

James,

Point well taken. I was using Hebrew as a synonym for Jewish, but the distinction is noted. From where do you get these gems or are you spinning the stuff out of your head? All the same, quite impressive.

Certainly, I was somewhat surprised actually at how easy it was to find some of this information.

There is the general outline of the history of Mogadishu that has been floating around for ages, that you can find in Somali (though weirdly not English) just about anywhere:
http://so.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muqdisho
http://www.somalipress.net/2010/11/24/m ... -muqdisho/
http://sp am.net/2008/11/28/taarii ... usuusataa/

For some reason no English speaking historian has bothered writing about this, which is kind of incredible, but I can read a bit of it and I had a friend of mine translate the parts I can't read.

From there it's just a matter of identifying people. Tubba Ascad ibn Karb is obviously As'ad Abu Karib ibn Malikkarib, and Cabdulmalik Ibnu Marwaan is VERY obviously the 5th Umayyad Caliph of Damascus.

Some people are rather mysterious, I have no idea who the Xalawaan or Zuzaan were, though I suppose they have something to do with the town's republican government. After the Abbasid Caliphate disintegrated Mogadishu formed a republican government led by the Qadi, until Abu Bakr ibn Fakhr ud-Din became the first Sultan of Mogadishu. Historical references imply that he had some connection with the Shirazi dynasties of the Zenj empire, but I can't really find much evidence of that. The Portuguese took over around 1502 and built a massive tower fort near what would become the "Governor's Palace", and weren't kicked out of there until the corsair fleet of Mir Ali Beg drove the Portuguese out of East Africa.

This chap takes an admirable stab at a comprehensive history here:

How the hell can you have so called "Maliki Muslims" before Imam Maliki was born? :| I think you should delete the Shafici, Hanafi, Malik and just write Muslims.

This guy and his bullshit version of history, displacing Somalis from their own heritage and replacing them with foreigners instead, what a dumbazz, it shows how much he really hates us. Mogadishu State was created on the ruins of Pre-Islam Somali settlements, and was ruled by the Black Berberis i.e Somalis from the start, not Jews or refugee Arabs fleeing with only their clothes on their backs to ancient Somali cities mostly during the Ajuuraan Empire. Mogadishu was never conquered by the Portuguese the Portos were destroyed and they fled with their tails between there legs.

Go fck around with Canadian history, and leave ours the fck alone :lost:
