That mean you are 24.

In USA when you reach the age of 24 you are considered independent and you don't need your parent's tax return information or for them to co-sign anything (loans or what not).

Independent Status

You are at least 24 years old on the day you file your FAFSA
You are or will be enrolled in a masters or Doctoral degree program at the beginning of the school year
You are married on the day you file your FAFSA
You are a parent
You have dependents other than your spouse who live with you and who receive more than half their support from you at the time you apply
Both your parents are deceased (or were until age 18) a ward of dependent of the court
You are currently serving on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces for purposes other than training
You’re a Veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces.
You were a foster child after the age of 13.
You are an emancipated child as determined by a court judge.
You are homeless or at risk of homelessness as determined by the director of a HUD approved homeless shelter, transitional program, or high school liaison.

I guess you're on your own, just make sure your not making a decent amount coming in from work or they'll have you pay partially.

You're alright as long as you have the closure of living with the family and not making decent amount of money, than you're prefectly fine.

It is...I just had a rough time deciding what to study and do as a career!! Lost two years because of it...could have been done by now only if I knew what I know now! But alhamdulilah, school taught me many things...

Actually it mean you will recieve a lot more unless of course you are part-time student with full time job.

You financial aid award depends on your income and since you are now independent from your parents that means you will be recieve a large sum of cash in the end of each semester. Usually between $1,200 to $1,500 unless each state is different. :|
