When women join the work force they have to compete with men and being out in the "real world" makes them just as independent because women, shockingly enough, can do practically everything men can do.

I didn't say it was wrong and I didn't call it modern. It's commonsense.

2 people working on a farm get more done than 1 person working on a farm. All developed/developing economies have had have their society readdress what they believe women are capable of. Arabs haven't had to evolve much thanks to their oil dependent economy but once it runs out things will change. Way of the world.

I was making a connection of what you pointed out and what I believed is wrong with modern day society. Especially the "developed" countries, where they have just about the worst societal problems, and gender confusion in history. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with woman working, and they have always worked outside of the house as long as civilization itself. But now we have woman who can't afford not to work, despite having kids, a husband that works, because of the engineered economic situation we are in. Do you know that families make roughly the same amount they made in the 1950's, despite having both partners working full time, as opposed to only men working before. Sad innit.
Truth is majority of woman would rather be full time moms, if they could afford it, and part time if they wanted to.

Like you said women have always worked, it is just the nature of the work that has changed. Now they work along side men. Therefore it is more obvious and perhaps more painful to some men for a woman to be their boss. People work because they have to. Rich women have never worked because they never had to. If your wife has to work, then it means you're not rich. Inflation or no inflation. Get rich or stop complaining.
