For the ppl running around about Sanaag. Stop 90% of the god damn place is Warsangeli. Western Bari 100% Warsangeli before I depart from this god forsaken place the artist formerly known as Oldenglish has one message to leave behind. I saw the reviews for the documantry and 90% was negative but I am still looking forward to watching it, horta are you'll sure it's oldenglish? cus I doubt the dude is that brave to put himself in the face of danger like that.

i don't care if the doc. is shit because watching the former gang-banger trying to survive in somalia is enough reason for me to watch.

You might me right, oldenglish could just be the toughest nygga on the forum who probably looked death in the eye dozen times but I hope his making mad cheese from the documentary, I too wanted to do something similar when piracy was on the news 24/7 but opted out because I wanna see another day, but kudos to the guy.

Gemini what exactly are you promoting? The poor guy tried to make a documentary about pirates and got pirated in broad daylight in the middle of Canada.
When he returned to Canada, he sought help of a production company on Craigslist to make his film and found Palmira PDC. But he must have had it hijacked from him because he ends up receiving not a single production credit on his own film. Although he shot all the footage in Somalia and none of the others went there, all the credits go to Palmira's Matvei Zhivov, Roger Singh, Andrew Moniz and Rock Baijnauth.

This is clearly a sad case of a naïve filmmaker getting into bed with sharks and completely losing control and ownership of a project. Perhaps that's just as well since the project is an embarassment. But it has been picked up by HBO and I doubt that Ashareh will see a penny even though he was the driving force behind it all. This film is just a bad news story all around.
