No, when Western blacks get money they marry white chicks and move to the whitest neighborhood money can buy; within 3 generations all the blackness is breeded out. Blacks in America specifically are going nowhere.

Very little of this has much merit. It all appears to be ceremonial and very much a rarity. Corporate America is still riddled with the usual back-handed policies that curtail any tangible progress for non-whites. The glass ceiling is more than an urban legend, its a reality. Surprised most of them are law school graduates, MBA would have made more sense.

Half, I would have thought the same too about an MBA instead of JD but as for what you said about glass ceiling, true but an individual can't really spend too much time thinking about that. These guys are successful individuals as well as Black aren't they?

White people have been doing this shit for decades i.e. select a few black individuals from a highly polarized pool, season them and essentially white-wash them, then brandish them as heads of these companies. It plays to their policies and makes them feel better about their morality. But, is any of it real? Did these individuals get here because of their own personal hard-work? That's what they want everyone to believe, but there's a whole lot more involved than recruiting a candidate based on experience and education. This is America afterall, this country was built to sell you the idea that everything and anything is possible, so long as you work hard, what it fails to tell you is all the other behind-the-scene politics and the amount of ass-kissing, compromises and selling-out one must do to reach at the top of the hierarchy.

so what is your point? we should all go to law school or should become like them?

if your point is hard work gets you somewhere, i totally agree with you. education is more lethal than a nuclear bomb and believing that itself is as strong as stone. as Somalis, we don't have both. we don't have the education nor do we encourage and support each other for it.

the achievement of a few individuals does a lot to boost my morale but doesn't alleviate the higher percentage of illiteracy rate in our Somali society. i am extremely frustrated with my people in the west who enjoy vast opportunities but do little to take advantage of it. Somali high school graduates in some parts of the united states is dropping, much less about college. people like to blame the kids for their failure but i blame the parents who do little to stir up or instill the importance of education in their children's minds early on.

to tell you the truth guys, i am very pessimistic about the future of Somali kids in the west.

This is so true and yet sad reality. Overachievers are looked down upon instead of encouragement.
