The rift in S-net General Forum
Atheists V Islamists
I know this is a tired topic and has been dragged for so long, but what I am trying is, to put it in a perspective that might end the tag of war.
Atheists in here have been trying to downgrade Islam and dissuade it's followers by presenting so-called flaws in the faith albeit not tangible. The alternatives they presented are/were (or the lack of it) were meshy and in the eyes of the true believer, absurd and unsawllowable. Facts and proves were missing and the prominent figures in the atheist ideology either ended up in an obscure world or science caught up with their fabricated dogmas, hence, no Atheist managed to convince any Islamist to question the faith they hold so dear and near to their heart.
Islamists on the other hand, concluded their long debates with Atheists that "Whomsoever Allah guides, will never go astray" no matter how long you preach, present the undeniable facts of the existence of a creator to this universe or the purpose of humans in this world, no one can guide someone no matter how much you like that individual.
What is the solution then?
I think it's basically "Lakum diinakum waliya diini"

There is no solution. The Islamicists are ideologues, like communists. I remember arguing with communists and rational arguments didn't work because they regarded Lenin and Marx as divine - although they never would have said that. Jews are the same way. Try arguing the Palestinian issue with an orthodox Jew. God gave them the land, and that's that. You can't argue with that. They are locked in a mind set that simply does not permit them to think critically. Everything is rationalized. Islam is their orientation point. Even if they knew it was false, they would lie to themselves. But religion is never provable or disprovable, so people pretty much end up believing what they want.
It is interesting that in some Islamic circles being a "free thinker" is a negative characteristic.
