Pregnant at 15, daughter of Britain's most prolific single mother (And, of course, she's on benefits - just like mum)

But the words of mother of 14 Joanne Watson – who receives more than £2,000 a month in state handouts – have fallen on deaf ears.

Her 15-year-old daughter Mariah is pregnant, the father has ‘left the scene’, and the youngster is about to start living off benefits.

Mrs Watson, 40, is raising her giant brood alone after parting from her husband John, 46, three years ago, and breaking up with subsequent partner Craig le Sauvage, 35, last year.

Despite this, she has still managed to squirrel away enough cash for a £1,600 breast enhancement and a sunbed. She claims she has always encouraged her daughters to use contraception – but, inevitably, it seems they would rather follow the family tradition.

Mariah’s pregnancy comes after Mrs Watson’s oldest daughter Natasha, 22, got pregnant with her son Branford, now six, when she was 16. Her second eldest daughter Shanice, 19, also got pregnant at 16 with her 22-month-old son Marley.

Mariah says she has no concerns about becoming a teenage mother, as it seems the most natural thing in the world. Initially, she and her child will be supported by the taxpayer.

She is expected to move into a housing complex for single mothers and will receive supplementary benefit and child allowance for her baby.

The youngster, who is due to have a boy, said: ‘I’m not nervous. I’ve been around babies my whole life so I know what to expect and that I can handle it. The father isn’t involved and I don’t want him to be either. I’m really excited and think I will be a great mum.’
Mrs Watson, who had her first child at 18, said: ‘Of course no one wants their teenage daughters to get pregnant.

‘I’ve always urged them to use contraception – but if they refuse to there’s not much I can do about it. But I don’t believe in abortions, and Mariah wanted to have the baby, so now I just have to do my best to support her.


‘I don’t think she has any idea how hard it will be on her own in a flat.’

Mrs Watson went on: ‘I’m not proud Mariah is pregnant. The father isn’t on the scene and I wanted better than that for my daughter. But my two other daughters have done well for themselves. They both work and have good jobs as well as looking after their children.’

Mariah will be leaving the crowded council house she has shared with her mother and ten sisters and three brothers.

Mrs Watson pays only £27 a week rent for the house, a heavily subsidised fraction of the normal cost, receives a total of £160 a week in family allowance for the 11 children still living at home, and another £405 a week in supplementary benefit.

She also boasts that she finds it easy to run her huge household and has enough spare time to go to the park or the beach near her home in St Martins, Guernsey.

‘As soon as I get up in the morning I help the kids get ready for school and tidy their bedrooms,’ Mrs Watson said. ‘The top of my house needs to be tidy before I will go downstairs. They then have their breakfasts – maybe biscuits or cereal and they go to school together. I then get the younger ones dressed and myself ready and clean the house.

‘Then I can do what I want. I don’t know what everyone finds so extraordinary – it’s easy having 11 children at home, and I love it.’ She added: ‘People accuse me of having loads of kids for the benefits, but I have my children because I love being a mum – not for the money. I also get pregnant very easily.’

Mrs Watson’s relationship with her ex-husband, the father of her numerous children, collapsed in 2008, but two years later she thought she had found a saviour in former next-door neighbour Mr le Sauvage, a leisure centre worker. He soon made her pregnant and they became engaged.

Sadly, she lost the child at 20 weeks, and their engagement was called off.
Mrs Watson has been pregnant 16 times. Her 15th child Augustina died at just a day old from an infection.

The mother admits she still wants to be pregnant again – and that she was even jealous of her daughter’s pregnancy.

She said: ‘I would love a baby with dark hair as all my children are blonde.’

and also what's so shocking if they girl is 15 lmao ma tvga ka dhaadhiyay 15 year olds cant have sex? sxb their body is ready for it trustme. The Mexicans , here in America have a festival for their daughters when she turns 15 welcoming her to womanhood and in addition the somali culture is not against 15 year old girls or boys to get married waabay ku fanaan my son already wants a wife waba rageedi bay ku leeyin.
