Disclaimer: Hello, I’m a bit of a burning martyr and an uppity bitch; feel free to indicate this in your posts.
I don’t understand why others give white people the benefit of the doubt when they act blatantly, unabashedly racist.
For instance, this is Chantal and Dave, an English couple who decided that it would be brilliant—simply absolutely brilliant—to have a Colonial Africa themed wedding in South Africa, a country with a history of a little thing called apartheid:

Their wedding photos—which were posted on a photography blog and were subsequently linked to several other blogs pertaining to race, politics, and feminism—show the couple posing in front of walls adorned with theme-appropriate rifles and Union Jack flags. Oh, and there’s also the darling fact that the servers, who were all black, were dressed in mock Colonial-era servants garb.
Um, hi? What the f*ck? Imperialism is not something to romanticize, seeing as how it’s nearly synonymous with degradation, exploitation and mass murder.
What really irks me are comments like, “Well, this is awful! Someone should have told them how racist this all is before they actually went through with it.”
Um, no. They knew it was racist; they just didn’t care.
And why should they? In this White Supremacist society, it’s a greater offense to call white people out on their racism than it is for them to commit racist acts.
