After this meeting Somalia will have have Federalism - do you know what that means?PrinceDaadi wrote:Somalis Love meeting and shir? what do get this meeting regardless of where it is held?
-Somalis will be given incentives to create state governments
-States will be allowed to import equipment for police
-States will be allowed to trade openly with the rest of the world as autonomous units
-States will be allowed to explore and sell resources inside their territories
This effectively allows separate Somali states that have already achieved peace, like Puntland and Galmudug, to start trading openly with the world, exploring resources, and begin rebuilding instead of waiting for terrorists and warlords in Xamar like the past 20 years. This is the greatest breakthrough ever since it tries a new formula. I don't know about you, but this is the peace we've all been looking for.

Then why do u need Somalia? or u dont know what country or Nation means? The things u listed which federal regions will do is what central goverment will have done.Monk-of-Mogadishu wrote:After this meeting Somalia will have have Federalism - do you know what that means?PrinceDaadi wrote:Somalis Love meeting and shir? what do get this meeting regardless of where it is held?

What central government? Do you see one, because I don't. There is no national army, no national police, no national anything, this pseudo-federalism is the cheap and effective way to allow local clan-states to do for themselves what the absent central government cannot. This is a VERY simple concept. You need Somalia because the country isn't breaking apart, the world is still working to resolve the issues of terrorism and effectiveness for the centrl gov't and secondly, you need the permission of the TFG to do anything - that's why this meeting is happening, so the federal charter can be ratified and put into effect. Without permission from the TFG, the legal authority of Somalia, these clan-states can't trade with the world, build proper security systems or explore their own god-given resources.PrinceDaadi wrote:Then why do u need Somalia? or u dont know what country or Nation means? Stop blaming foreigners. You think if the Ugandans and foreign terrorists leave that Somalia will have peace? There were no foreigners in Somalia in 1991, or 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 - who was destroying the capital then? Nobody is going to wait, like the last 20 years, action will be taken now.PrinceDaadi wrote:Besides our problem is not b/w us now but foriegn powers r fighting over us so what a meeting in xamar, Garawe or Hargeisa will solve?

How long do these conferences last on average? This is a good thing for the favourite hotel in garowe.

I dont remember telling anyone to wait but if you think foreigners started to mess with our affairs after 2006 then i see no reason why we should conti this besides i fail to see any out come of these meeting, same actors differenr script.

Haye, blame foreigners and enjoy a lifetime in qurbaha. I for one, welcome this new development and I look forward to participating in the post-Federal Somalia.

Re: National hero Professor Dalxa praises Garowe for Locatio
It does not matter where the conference is being help as long as federalism is the discussion on the table. I for one welcome federalism only because we Somalis can not trust each other.
We have tried the so called 4.5 system again and again and it did not work, let’s give federalism a chance and see what it brings. It can’t be worst than 4.5 system.
But then again majority of these conferences are ‘all talk and no action’ and with the same players so I am not holding my breath.
We can blame on foreigners all day for our problems but we are the ones who are giving all the powers to these foreigners. If we united and said ‘no you will not mingle in our affairs’ would they still hold the power they have on us? The answer is no. So the blame is on us and not the foreigners. It’s time to take some responsibilities we have failed ourselves but it is never too late.
