does this video represent Beirut well? When I think of Beirut I think of bullet holes near every building and relics of war. Paris of the Middle East because of French colonization..

No man, that's what it is.FAH1223 wrote:@ paidmonk... thats what I thought too
I knew some Lebs who went back to Beirut, they said electricity is erratic, half the city is a Baghdad-style sectarian ghetto, gun battles between tribes and sects happen frequently, roads are absolute crap, even the nightlife is weak compared to the imagery - this is a country whose GDP is 20% remittances. You gotta remember, Lebanon is the world's most consistent war zone, however they are very good at projecting their country to the world, especially Westerners. Its like Somalia 2030 over there already.

You are right about one thing though, the nightlife sucks.. and is too expensive
they are the biggest show offs on the planet..
a lebanese would go hungary and save his or her money for the latest gucci and prada..
but not all lebanon is like that, the villages in the mountains would remind you of switzerland, and the prosperity is deceptive,
they are very good at hiding their wealth....
and their women are nothing next to syrians, syrians are prettier and with better attitude.
