Its not Nugaal valley - its Qardho - you can tell because reer Qardho-Dan Gorayo are the only people in those regions who tend cattle.
[Oh, and all the Pics' URL say "Qardho"]

Im sure these pics are old, I thought the region was in drought status due shortage of rain.

Ironically, it rained a few months ago in the dry regions. Pretty much all of the regions north of the rivers got rain.

^ Ciyaal, I think you should focus on navigating rivers, you are out of bounds here.
The Nugaal valley begins east of Buuhoodle and ends in Eyl. It used to be the sight of an ancient river, which poured in Sool and emptied into the Indian ocean. Part of the year the water does flow heavily and still follows its old route. A valley is just a crevice in the land, and all rivers form a valley; hence the former militia known as the "Jubba Valley Alliance" because beside the river there is no other kind of valley in that region. Even oil ties into this notion of the valley, also forming a basin that spreads across the same aforementioned area. I think what you are trying to say is that Nugaal proper consists of Lascanood as well while the modern province of Nugaal does not. Either way, I wasn't debating the geography of the Nugaal valley, but I was saying that the pictures are not in any place near the Nugaal Valley but in Qardho instead (reer Nugaaleed whether Lascanood or Garowe only have camels and goats, very few cattle herders).
You can thank me later for this geography lesson.

All though the rain come late once in a while when it does come it is all that is needed to fill everones stomech in areas like Puntland. The south though is completely a different story, the land there is blessed with rivers, etc. yet their starving year in and out. This people are cursed.

There are no plam tress or mountains in sool, the land there is flat; monk is correct on this.
