TFG soldiers kill eachother in hamarweyne, Mogadishu
Pro-Government Militia in Deadly Clash
At least four civilians were killed in crossfire when two pro-government militias fought a pitched battle in Mogadishu on Thursday night.
The clashes in Hamar Weyne between bodyguards of Omar Abdulle Ja’fan, governor of Huriwaa district, and forces loyal to the deputy chairman of Banadir region for security, Warsame Mohamed Hassan, were sparked by a power blackout.
“I lost power at my home. I believe it was cut off by some people working with ... Warsame Mohamed,” Ja’fan told Somalia Report. “When I sent some of my troops to the Al-Furqan electricity company to check on the problem, they were attacked by soldiers loyal to Warsame Mohamed.”
Ja’fan said two of his guards were injured, but he was unaware of civilian casualties. Warsame Mohamed said Ja’fan had made a “false allegation” and that Ja’fan’s guards had attacked the Bulale hotel, where he lives.
“Both of them must be ready for justice or to pay compensation for the four killed civilians,” Hamar Weyne resident Muftah Mohamed Ali told Somalia Report. “This is really irresponsible for both men to fight in civilian areas and kill innocent people over meaningless things.”
Mogadishu’s police commander Ali Barre Hersi told Somalia Report that the government members should take responsibility for the deaths.
“We are investigating which one started the first aggression, then we hope to charge them with the murders of the civilians, as we already have a documented list of the casualties,” he said.

Why should we be mad about anything that goes on in that dead place?
