He died somewhere in the 1600s, but where is he buried? Which region?

I would guess Sanaag or Bari.
We may need to keep the exact location secret to prevent haters from trying to steal his bones ,cooking it and drinking the maraq.

Well, that's a massive region (bigger than some countries even), any specifics? Is the town even known?

No, I'm just curious that's all. It would also give an indication on where he lived as most people in the middle ages were generally buried close to where they were born.

most of the somali qabiil starters are buried in Sanaag.sheikh Daarood, isaaq, siciid harti, warsangali, and Mareexaan(i think) so duq maxamed Harti is probably buried there too.

The name Majeerteen actually comes from the wife of the person Mjs trace their lineage to (Muhammed harti.) You see no Majerteen there just Muhammed. The wife first name was Faduumo or something, and she was the daughter of a popular Dir chief.
Like Samadoon mentioned Muhammed probably died around the Sanaag region.

There are somewhere around ~10 generation between Darod and Majerteen surely they have travelled around by then so I am not so sure if he was born/buried in Sanaag. He could also be from somewhere far from it like East Bari, who knows. I'd like to know specifics.

Yeah I knew it was his wife's name but for sake of convenience called him MJ here because most people know the clan by that name.

I dont think we have the historical narrations to actually pin-point where he died or buried, at best its speculative and you would be taking a massive guess because of the lack of evidence. Secondly we cant even be sure if this Darood and this Muhammed character actually existed. We rely on poetry, that's all this clannish Somali background past actually amounts to.

What are you guys talking about :?

Harti's first wife was nicknamed " Majerteen " ,his first son was called Muhammed Harti... So Muhammed Harti CAN be called Majerteen. ( Habar Majerteen Bah)
Unless you're looking for the burial site of oday Harti :|
