Announcement to Somalis in Atlanta & Other U.S. States:

Masjid Assunah & Da'wah Center in Atlanta is now accepting clothing donations to be sent to Somalia. A Somali aid group have secured space for 3 shipping containers to be filled with clothes and medical supplies, toileteries, books and other essential supplies. The ship is currently docked at a U.S. port and is scheduled to leave in the coming weeks. Out of the 3 containers, only 1 has been filled thus far and it is important to take advantage of this opportunity & fill the other 2 containers. If anyone has extra clothes lying around or knows family members/friends who want to donate, please contact Masjid Assunah. Below is their website.

P.s. make sure the clothes are washed and folded, packed in to boxes. If you live in the metropolitan Atlanta area, you can drop it off at the Masjid. If out of state, shipping is accepted.

UPDATE: The ship sails on September 23rd, one container still left and needs to be filled. If you got clothes lying around that could get better use, wash them, fold them and send them off to the address provided in my link. Thank you everyone who has pmed me with questions and made pledges. Being idle is no longer an excuse, specially when there are so many mediums of getting help to those who really need it.
