Polygamy In America
I am proud of this beautiful family. Even though they are no to polygamy, they embrace it so good. American Somali women go wacko when they hear about it. Some would even ask what is polygamy? or WWWWWWWWWW that is gross. Or aniga miyaa naag leela guursan karaah, ninka ayaan midi uga jarayaah dickga?

Re: Polygamy In America
My great-great-great grandfather had five living wives and 51 living children when he wrote his autobiography in 1881. http://www.boap.org/LDS/Early-Saints/WDraper.html
My grandfather's stepmother was past childbearing when she married my great grandfather. She arranged the marriage to my grandfather's mother.
I visited a household in Utah this past summer that split with the FLDS church over the " prophet" Warren Jess. They were of the opinion that his policies of marrying underage girls, without their informed consent, constituted child abuse and was not in agreement with the traditions of the faith. I agree with them, and was pleased to see the life sentence meted out in his case. His practices were not those of the LDS Church, and certainly not those of my family.
