Everyone should be appalled by this news. But lets not get ahead of ourselves. The diversion of food aid for nefarious purposes happens all over the world. I remember watching a documentary in some West African country (I think it was Ghana) where people were selling rice provided by USAID. I'm sure it also happens in many other parts of the world. However, the misappropriation food aid accounts for only a fraction of the food donated. So all this hoopla is misplaced imo. In fact, I suspect some have ulterior motives for harping on food aid theft. Lets be rational and objective.
