Listen to what he says, I never liked this historian after a saw him once on BBC Question Time....He was saying Arabs and Africans are losing their values and becoming more western by using social networking such as FB n twitter.

Starkey also dont like Scots and Welsh. He insulted Scotland and Wales on Question Time once, and the YT comments were filled with angry Scots

Nabil is right on one thing there. Black folks are too accepting of other people. Go to India or Japan and try and become a film star there, they wouldnt accept you. But if we have non-blacks among us doing our music, participating in our culture etc. we would accept them.

This guy is a historian??? White people were not emulating so called 'black culture' when they carried out and justfied slavery, set up the gulags, wiped out Hiroshima and Nagasaki, bulldozed into Vietnam and Iraq and I know white people were definately NOT emulating the black culture when they formed the most notoriously violent and ruthless gang called the Nazis. So lets revisit this 'white is right' theory of Starkey. This is the pot calling the kettle black. If we wish to talk about race relations, white people have commited the greatest human atrocities on this planet! How did the black culture influence those? Riots pop off and all of a sudden its black peoples' fault? Like everyone else, I was disguisted by what happened but everyone was involved; black, white asian, green blue and red. There are no grey patches here. Everyone should be answerable to their own crimes. Leave the black culture alone startkey & stop trying to stereotype it to animalistic, barbaric behaviour.

Also, funny when riots happen in Belfast [which happens every 5 minutes] nobody calls it "white riots". Even thou Northern Ireland is 99.8% white and it is white Northern Irish people rioting and smashing up buildings and city centres in Belfast.

I think the greatest thing wrong with Europe are the English. Specifically folks like this dude.

But cultural permeation is a nice discussion. I wonder, if Somalia were as developed as many parts of the UK are, and a flood of immigrants resulted in a massive cultural overtaking, what would happen? I think something to the likes of Idi Amin Dada, perhaps.

This is an important topic that can't be addressed with such brutality.

This is an important topic that can't be addressed with such brutality.

Then firstly, most of our immigrant would be our fellow black Africans and some Arabs. Africans can integrate and adapt to each other's countries quite easily, irrespective of religion - there isn't that big of a gap between the different African cultures. Arabs are Muslims anyway so they'll be OK too.

I'm confused about what he's saying. Is he saying that youth today are getting influenced by the negative aspects of ''black'' culture around them? If so then I agree, the dominant black culture is not one to be emulated.

The lady and the comedian personify the streotypical black man and woman. This is the media logic; instead of inviting an articulate, intelligent and educated black man/woman to respond to this nonsense, they invite people who fit the stereotypes.

They do this whenever there is some sort of a Muslim problem
They invite some young foaming at the mouth radical muslim,or some young muslim woman journalist.Rather then an educated Muslim Calim who could expain the situation in the right context
