Those who were part of the former UIC who joined the TFG but now a days anyone who is not almost "gaal" is considered an Islamist.

Anyone who leans towards an islamic government.

They are no longer Islamists. They sold out on their principles long ago.

True but i rather have a Islamist in a suit who can work from the inside than having a bunch of secular Somalis who believe sharia is backwards.

Our Journey is long and hard, we will need more than one group to implement what we seek. There will be many phases but in the end the goal will be reached either by a bullet or by a ballot.

You're right.

Their influence in noticeable. The old TFG did not bring Shariica to the foreground. This TFG however has publicly stated that they want to implement Shariica, although its form is unknown. The age of secular governance in Somalia has indeed died out. You have to believe that this is a result of the shake up in the TFG's make up.

Melo this is much more than them. Is the work of all Somalis especially the scholars such as Sh abdinur and Cumar Farooq, Boqolson, who faught with bullets, words, pen and teaching the people...A work that has been ongoing for more than fifty years.

Alxamdulillah today even the biggest criminal can only come to power if he promises to rule by sharia because he knows the people will not accept any less. That itself is an achievement.. Such things couldnt be imagined couple of years ago.

We should not here, that even the Mooryan in the 90s were setting up Islamic courts. I think these gangsters see Shariah, as both a vote winning scheme, but also the easiest way to create social order. They will never however implement Shariah correctly; only bits and pieces.

You are on point when you mention the impacts of dacwa on the push of Shariah. It is this dacwa that created people like Shariif, Janaqow, C/qaadir Cumar etc. Whilst these men are not perfect, and honestly are no longer pure Islamists, they are as you say, much better than the secular crew.

greenday.. we don't live in the prophets(Pbuh) time when you either were or not.. Today is much different.. Let me give you a few examples. I personally know people who reject hadiths all together and when i tell them to accept the hadiths they call me a Islamist.

I know this one somali girl who claims the hijab is not wajib at all and if i argue with her she calls me a islamist.

There are muslims who reject basic aspects of the religion and if you try to talk to them your a Islamist  May i add nothing especially is being asked of such people but basic islam.. I dont consider myself a shiek or feel that i am better than anyone else and Allah knows.

So i have accepted the term Islamist for myself

There are slight differences between the two regimes. For starters, CY was a primitive qabiiliste who brought in foreign forces to wipe out Hawiye. Shariif has no intention of Genocide. This is the first difference.
